Being a mom does not require your ego. What is actually required is your heart. As a parent, it is our love, our loyalty, our support, our trust, and our confidence in our kiddos that matters most. Raising children is about reminding them that we think they're phenomenal - that is what we owe them and nothing else. When we allow ego to be an influence on how we're parenting, we focus less on helping them become the best version of them and instead prioritize them being a mini version of us- and let me tell you, that doesn't ever work out.   In today’s episode, I talk about ego and what ego does when we're trying to raise our kids. The mom + ego + raising kids is an equation we must discuss, and we have to pay attention to it. I discuss why your kids have their own identities, why your job is to trust them so they can learn to trust themselves, and how you can actually learn a lot from your kids when you let your ego go.    In this episode, we cover:

  • Ego has no place in the parenting equation [0:53]
  • Our kids are forming their own identity that started the moment they were born [6:51]
  • Your job is to appreciate and support your kids [11:47]
  • What your kids don’t need and what you’re doing wrong when you’re parenting [20:24]
  • When you trust your kids, they learn to trust themselves [29:06]
  • Cultivate a space for your kids to let their own dreams and curiosities shine [36:20]
  • What would happen if you stepped back a bit from hands-on parenting? [43:01]
