When I think about a typical mom, I picture a woman running out the door, her hair in a bun, she's got a kid on a hip, four bags in her hand, she probably has earbuds in, and she's doing 35 things at once. And guess what? She's getting it all done. Amazing right? Yes! But is this multitasking supermom really sustainable? In today’s episode, I talk about why being a multitasking mom is not a desirable superhero trait. I share all the reasons why you need to reevaluate being a multitasking mom because in the long run it’s not realistic to ask that of ourselves, it's not helpful in the long run, it's really not sustainable and it’s not the example we want to set for our kids. In this episode, we cover:
- Being a multi-tasking supermom isn’t fun [0:48]
- Multitasking moms are just layering everyone's stuff on top of their own [6:46]
- This new normal isn’t actually optimal [12:24]
- We are capable of multitasking but we need to put boundaries around it [16:50]
- You might be missing out on the important needs of your family [20:32]
- Multitasking is not an easy habit to break but you need to prioritize [24:40]
