There’s no such thing as perfect, so why do we constantly feel like it’s something we need to strive for and achieve? It’s almost insidious how we believe we have to be perfect, and as mom’s that pressure only doubles. But let’s be real, especially as we move into the holiday season, can you actually be the perfect supermom? I am sorry to break it to you, mama, it just ain’t possible.    In today’s episode, I’m talking about why perfection ain’t going to happen so you have to stop trying. That doesn’t mean giving up altogether, it just means you need to give yourself some grace and space! I cover how you stop celebrating the unique gifts you have, you forget your own superpowers and wins, and how you’ll always be in a state of comparison if you continue to aim for perfection. This time around, instead of aiming for perfection, ask yourself how you can show up for others and for your own self in the most authentic manner possible. Remember the world needs your uniqueness and your specialness!    In this episode, we cover:

  • It’s time to admit it - perfection is not possible and the more you aim for it, you start to miss out on the unique gifts you have within [1:25]
  • Perfectionism prevents us from showing up as our most authentic selves [4:58]
  • If your goal is perfection you are setting yourself up for failure [9:32]
  • Downplaying our accomplishments because they don’t feel “special” or “unique ”[13:08]
  • Strive for excellence, not perfection. Excellence gives your permission to stay curious, to evolve, and to be okay with failure - even when it comes to motherhood [17:46]
  • As a mom when you allow room for error, you are teaching your children that they can make mistakes as well. Being perfect robs us of so many things and holds us  back from achieving more [26:01]
  • How to start moving forward away from the perfectionist narrative [31:03]
