If you scroll back in the podcast catalog to June 22, 2021, episode 259, we had Paige Neinaber talking all about promotions, promotions, ideas, and marketing your show and radio station. Paige is the minister of good times. You can work with him a number of ways. There are budgetfriendly options, too, like a newsletter and a podcast. Both cost you nothing except a few minutes of your time and attention. Radio contesting always feels like a struggle at some stations. They either do things because that's the way we've always done them, or they're complicated and too hard to follow along. Sometimes I listen to contesting and promotions on the radio, and I wonder, why are they playing a silly trivia game for a $20 gift certificate from a pizzeria? What's in it for the listener? Like, that's it, what exactly is on the line here? And why should I be giving up my entertainment time for this? I mean, I like pizza and all, and it could be worse. They could be giving away an oil change. But what if there was something truly valuable on the line, something that your listeners really, really wanted, like a pair of Taylor Swift tickets? Sadly, there were a few stations doing the same old text to win, which is fine, but it's really a wasted opportunity to connect with your listener for something they really, really want. Thankfully, we've got Paige and his podcast called Three Radio Promotions in three minutes. And this is what we call in podcasting a feed drop. So I'm playing his latest episode in hopes that you will follow or subscribe to his podcast, and hopefully you pick up some great ideas and get some value from it. And by the way, if you're finding value with this podcast and you're using a newer podcast app, we always appreciate you sending us a little boost. You can find out more@newpodcastapps.com. Okay, here's three radio promotions in three minutes. And this week's episode is called a Ton of Tailored Contesting.

And if it's midnight, it must be episode 155. Let me check. 1 second. Yes. 155 of three Radio promotions in three minutes. This week, it's going to be three tailor promotions or more in three minutes because Taylor Swift's Tour is the biggest thing out there. I look back, I use it as a metaphor. New Kids on the Block in 1990 and promotions or in radio at all. You gauge the hotness of a ticket based on how many weird phone calls you get from people you haven't heard from since high school. And then you also start to get the in Charlotte. When I worked there during New Kids, I had a New Kid's death file, which were letters to me from parents about their incredibly ill kids who really needed front row tickets. And that's happening with Taylor. So it is a million dollars ticket. And to just enter your email or something like that. It's just missing a tremendous opportunity. People want these tickets. They will do anything for these tickets. So three or more tailor promotions in three minutes. Here we go. First of all, the ticketmaster snafu certainly is pressworthy and something that everybody's talking about, so that could be one way that you image it. You're the master of tickets and waiting from the station. You're not going to have to sit on hold for 5 hours and then get disconnected. We have the tickets, you're going to have them. No middle people or anything like that. So have some fun with the ticketmaster thing while it's still buzzworthy. Taylor Lift, Cumulus and Albuquerque hooked people up on all the drinking holidays like St. Patrick's Day in 4 July halloween with free Uber rides. Taylor Lift would be tickets and then Lyft ride to and from the show. Taylor Swiftly we've done ticket deliveries in a lot of the markets. Tickets in an hour or less within winning them or within an hour of winning them, you get them delivered to your door. It was first done by the Boss 97 in New Jersey. That was at a time when I think it was Domino's was doing the 30 minutes guarantee. So they did tickets in 30 minutes or less, and if it took longer than 30 minutes for the tickets to be delivered to your door, you got a free pizza. You could do that. Taylor swiftly. Tailor. Tag. Easy peasy. To win, know the name of the person who won before you. Triple Tag now a bunch of stations. KS 95 in the Twin Cities, the Bull in Seattle have been doing backtoback Taylor Swift songs and breaking the phones. Whenever a Taylor Swift song plays, be ready, because if she comes up again next, that's the cue. It will shut down phone service. Triplet is just basically three songs, a Taylor song followed by two powers or a power, and then another Tailor song. So triple Ta the ticket bandit. This is about to happen at an Iheart station where the last pair of tickets is going to be stolen. It's basically a mini version of The Fugitive, where there's somebody on the streets and you have to run around and ask everybody, are you the, for instance, KPAGE taylor Swift Ticket Bandit. First person to follow all the call to clues gets the tickets. Pay It Forward being done by Froggy IPK in Knoxville, where you win a pair of tickets and a pair of tickets to go with a friend or bring a friend with pay it forward. Lavender Haze an idea that we're looking at with one of the stations, where it's going to be a really foggy, purplish haze photo. Every hour, the photo is going to be kind of digitally mastered, so an object is going to become clearer and clearer. The first person who calls in and says a red tabler would win the Lavender Hayes taylor tickets. Write a Song Tuesday has been done at quite a few stations. If you have somebody who has marginal skills with guitar, marginal is better than good. You want marginal? It's like American Idol. The bad singing is always the stuff that people are most interested in. Write a Song Wednesday would be done as the tailored version. So we take one of our songs and we do our own version of that. And you have to identify the incredibly botched and mashed up version as we attempt to mimic her beautiful music. And then finally the trailer of Two Cities. And finally the tailor of Two Cities, which was done by Magic in Colorado Springs, where you want tickets to see Taylor in one city and then tickets to see her in the next city. That's it. A bunch of Taylor Swift promotions in a fairly succinct, Ppm friendly manner. This is a huge tour with an amazing artist. I mean, this is not something you just want to waste your tickets with.
