Good morning. Oh, happy football. Sunday. It is my favorite day of the week.

I am just getting up

or sipping on that coffee. You know, it's 1030 we've got an early game today. The Chiefs played 11 today, so it's an early early game. So when they played that early now, do we think it is acceptable to start drinking at 11 o'clock? Now, whenever the games are at 11, it's it makes for a really long, long day. So we're gonna rally. I'm back to work tomorrow, so I'm gonna behave today. It's not gonna be my usual routine for football Sunday. Now, my usual routine on a football Sunday, usually, usually, usually, usually, usually. The pattern I have noticed is the Chiefs tend to play at round 225, and that gives you time to kind of get up and, like, get your stuff done. Like, I need to go to the gym still today. So to be completely honest with you, I will not start start drinking at 11 o'clock today, but I am gonna have this iced coffee and make a nice breakfast. I've got yams in the air fryer, and we're gonna make some eggs. But like I was saying, it is it acceptable to start drinking that early? Please let me know what you think. Because when I lived in Vancouver, I went to, oh my god, we went to, like the World Juniors game. But the game was at 8am and I just remember me and my old roommate, we literally poured, I think we had one cup that we were walking down the street with that had like a Baileys and coffee in it, and then the other cup had like a triple gin and soda, because we were just trying to get fired up for the game. And let me tell you that that night, that day, we ended up in bed around noon, so it is acceptable to drink that early. However, you just got to know how to do it. So anyways, like I said, Happy Football Sunday. The Chiefs are playing the Panthers today. So even though, even though we are nine and one. Now we're gonna turn that to 10 and one today. I'm fairly certain. Now this is just gonna be a mini episode today. I am gonna start trying to do little mini episodes, as you know, just a little surprise, little little, little clipper, clipper, Rooney. Here, it sounds like I probably already have been drinking. It is because I just woke up. We're gonna take another sip of this coffee. I do have a guest today of glow up to special guests today. Matt Cundill is gonna join me today, and we are gonna talk about my football experience. As you all know, I went to the chiefs and bills game. So we're gonna get right into it. So everyone give a nice little welcome to my friend and colleague. Matt.

Matt Cundill  3:28
Hi, how are you good you?

Allie Marz  3:32
You know, I'm a little hungover. I'm not gonna lie. Really, me never

Matt Cundill  3:39
what goes on on Thursdays that, like, makes you hungover Friday

Allie Marz  3:43
honestly, um, we went to, okay, so funny story. So I went and met up with, like, my old managers that I used to obviously work with at a bar I worked at out here, and I went and met them for a drink, and they're like, we're going to the flames game. Do you want to come. And I was like, No, I'm not coming. I need to go home. I want to, like, cook dinner, like I'm gonna be wholesome. And I get home and I'm just sitting on the couch, and I was like, fuck, I should go to the game. Just caved immediately as soon as I got home, because I just had FOMO. So anyways, so then I was on the couch. I was like, Okay, I'm gonna come. They're like, hey, grab a ticket. It's only 10 bucks. And I was like, Okay, let me just get ready really quickly, and then I will come and meet you guys. So I got ready, and I had the game time app open, and I had a ticket, and I was just about to purchase it, and I was like, Hey, let me get my Uber. So like, at least I'm on my way. I get in the Uber, and I go to purchase the ticket, and they close the sales, so I'm on the way to the game, and I have no ticket, and I can't even buy one. So anyways, so then I texted the boys, and I was like, Well, I'm in an Uber and I can't get into the game, so you guys need to leave the game and come and meet me at the casino. So they. Had free tickets anyways, so they left the game and came and met me at the casino, and the rest of the night is just a blur, like we went to cowboys. I had a tab. I just just drank and drank and drank and drank and drank.

Matt Cundill  5:16
That is some serious pull, if you can, like, get guys out of a hockey game to come hang with you for the night.

Allie Marz  5:23
I know I it's a little low key flex, I guess, right?

Matt Cundill  5:29
It Well, it worked, right?

Allie Marz  5:30
It did work. And

I'll just say I woke up and there was, like, pizza crumbs all over my kitchen, you know, like the end of the night, when you go and get food, and then, like, I'm always a disaster when I wake up in the morning, I started taking tiktoks Actually, of the morning after, and it's, it's quite the sight to see. Let me tell you, that's

Matt Cundill  5:53
a pretty good filtering process, because then everybody's gonna know exactly what you get first thing in the morning. Yeah,

Allie Marz  5:59
exactly. Sorry my dogs are playing with the toy. All good.

Matt Cundill  6:06
How's your trip? Oh,

Allie Marz  6:07
my God, it was a great time. I you bills. Fans are fucked.

Matt Cundill  6:15
Fucking right, sweetheart.

Allie Marz  6:19
I have never experienced anything like I did when I went to that game, like I, I had no words like I just like me and my mom. So originally, the game plan was we weren't we weren't gonna drive, and we had a driver arranged, and then they canceled last minute. So I told my mom. I was like, Okay, well, I guess I'll just drive. Like, I don't, we don't really have a choice. So I was a little bit bumped about that, because all I wanted to do was go and, like, tailgate and drink and just get absolutely annihilated. And so anyways, we left the house around one. We got over the border in about 10 minutes. Like, we were over really quickly, like, I thought it was gonna be like, gonna be like an hour and a half wait at the border, but it was fast. And we get into Buffalo, and then we parked by the arena, or whatever, and stadium, and just the people that tailgate and party and drink at their cars, like alone, that was a sight to see, and the cops just don't care. Oh,

Matt Cundill  7:23
my God, this is such a Canadian experience, where, like, Canadians are seeing people with open liquor, right?

Allie Marz  7:30
Honestly, like, how, like, the cops do not care. Like, you're just drinking at your car and getting fucked up and, like, leaving hammered, like, and no one's backs an eye.

Matt Cundill  7:40
Yeah. Canadian woman is shocked at tailgating film at 11.

Allie Marz  7:46
I Okay, don't get me wrong. I love drinking. I you know this, everybody who knows me knows that, like, I love to have a good time. And all I wanted to do was get fucked up at all these, like, tailgates. And like, friends of mine were at one, and they're like, come to this tailgate and like, all that was going through my head was, I can't I can't drink, I can't show up at the border hammered and drive home like, that's just not gonna happen.

Matt Cundill  8:09
One of the biggest discussions I ever had with my friends, we left early from Toronto one morning in 1993 I think, to go to the AFC Championship, which was the bills and the Chiefs actually back then. And we had a discussion about who was going to be the designated driver back and it was January. We're driving down the 401 and we made a deal that the last person, no, the first person to put their window up in January as we're driving down the highway, was going to be the one who had to drive home.

Allie Marz  8:41
Oh, my God, it was

Matt Cundill  8:45
not going to be me, because I was gonna have a good time that day. Yeah,

Allie Marz  8:49
100% like, yeah. So anyway, so, like, I'm obviously afraid of being in Bill's territory as a chiefs fan, of course, because, like, either I was gonna get beat up or, like, you know, but I was shocked to see the amount of Kc fans. Like, I didn't think there was gonna be as many as there were.

Matt Cundill  9:09
Yeah, you know, I think they travel well, probably better than ever. Now, you know, there's Casey fans all over the place, but I think they're just going to see their team play, because it's a great watch, right?

Allie Marz  9:23
Yeah, and, like, I It's funny enough. Actually, I actually had a bet with a couple people back here. Like, I was, like, this will be the game we lose. Like, this is 100% going to be the game I lose. Like, there's no question. Like, so we get in, like, me and my mom paid a pretty penny for these tickets. Like, almost close to 1000 each. Like, expensive tickets, because per ticket, right? Yeah, yeah. Like, I've

Matt Cundill  9:47
been watching, I've been watching for a few weeks about how expensive it was going to be. Like 600 US was about going to be per ticket was the best I thought I could do. Yeah,

Allie Marz  9:57
that was what we paid. We paid about 650 D, which was, like, almost close to $900 each, which we had no problem doing, because, like, it's an experience on its own. And it was our first one. And if the first one I go to is going to be a Casey game, I would have paid 2000 you know what I mean? Like, I was just that excited. So, like, the money wasn't the issue, obviously. And so we get there, and we're walking like, through the, like, all the tailgates and like, people are, like, yelling at me, but like, in the most friendly way possible, like nobody was being rude. Like I had old men yelling at me, and then they'd laugh after, like, it was just so funny. There actually was a car, like, I can't I still, I'm still trying to process it all because, like, I can't grasp, like, how intense these people go, like there was a skeleton in the hood of someone's car with a KC shirt on, like I was howling, like it was just the funniest thing to see. I

Matt Cundill  10:53
saw blow up doll in 1991 AFC Championship. Again, it was against the Broncos, and it was a, you know, it's one of those blow up fuck dolls, and it's, and, think it was somebody just said Elway's wife, John Elway was the quarterback. It was, like, Elway's wife, and I go, man, that's my that's a lot,

Allie Marz  11:15
you know, wow, yeah, like, it's fucked so we get there, or whatever. I had to ask the like, I asked a sheriff, like, how to get in, because obviously, like, I've never been before, right? So whenever we go in and just like, we grab a drink. Well, I did, because my mom didn't want to have anything to drink, but I grabbed my drink, and we go to our seats, and we just, like, kept walking down. Like, my mom's like, we're not there yet I'm like, Mom, no, we're like, close to the field, I'm telling you. So we're walking down and we're still going, and she's just, my mom is just taking it all in. And it was just like, the cutest thing to see, because she was just so excited. Like, my mom is a die hard Steelers fan, like she is dedicated to the Steelers. She loves the Steelers, but she's also a Bills fan. She's got two teams, but like, she just, like, looking at her, like, just like, having this experience with my mom was probably the coolest thing ever, because, like, everyone was like, is that your mom? Is that your mom? And I'm like, yeah. And they're like, how cool is it that you're here with your mom? And I'm like, I know she's fucking badass, like, and

Matt Cundill  12:21
she had her bill shirt on. Yeah,

Allie Marz  12:23
she had her bills sweater on. I was decked out in all my Casey gear, and there was a few KC fans that were sitting by us. Like, I had a girl behind me that was in her Casey stuff. And then, like, a couple guys down there was a bunch of Kc fans, but then we were obviously surrounded by all these bills fans. So like, the bills are winning, and everyone's like, fist pumping. My mom just like, just the sweetest thing ever. But oh my god, are Bills fans loud? I can 100% see, like, if I was Patrick mahomes, I would have been intimidated, like it was fucked like you guys are loud.

Matt Cundill  12:59
Oh yeah, it's I actually can't participate in that, because I'll lose my voice. And I need my voice.

Allie Marz  13:08
You do. You can't. Yeah, you need yours. You can't go all out. But I swear the guy that was sitting in front of us, he for sure, didn't have a voice after he was done, especially, like, with, like, the thing that they do for Cooper and like, everyone yells coup, like it's sick.

Matt Cundill  13:23
Yeah, and the I was at the Jacksonville game earlier this year, which was week three. It was a Monday night, but that's when the that was sort of the breakout moment for the killers Mr. Brightside, when they played that and everyone started singing it, and everyone's adopted that in Buffalo as their song. And I thought to myself, well, why that song? And, you know, I guess the the timing is right, 2002 song. So for you know, what would be the mean age, the millennials would probably really love that song. But it's like, that's a song about cheating. Why? Why that song? Well, there's no fan base in the world that feels more cheated than the bills. Yeah,

Allie Marz  13:58
for sure, I was, I was trying to figure that out. I said that to my mom after I was like, I don't get it. Why were they playing Mr. Brightside? Like, I had no clue. And everybody was singing, and I was just like, what's going on right now? Like, I don't get it. They

Matt Cundill  14:11
won't play the song until, I think they feel the game is in hand, which is why they played it at the two minute warning. So I think, hey, for I think the idea is, if we're up by 11 at a certain point in the game, in the fourth quarter, and it feels in control. They will, they'll rip the song.

Allie Marz  14:27
It's, it's mesmerizing,

Matt Cundill  14:29
yeah. And you know the song before at the game, they played wonder wall from Oasis, and everyone was sort of singing that. But Mr. Brightside, I think the players on the field reacted to it too. So yeah, it's sort of a feeling between the players and the and the fans.

Allie Marz  14:43
Well, I even like they, like, were showing, like, all the bills were, like, dancing, like, out on the field when it came on, and I was like, look how cute they are. They're all just dancing and, like, having such a good time. Like, it was adorable. Like,

Matt Cundill  14:57
Yeah, I heard that Taylor Swift in the. 10 because the calc the kelseys didn't bother to get a suite because of, you know, Bill's mafia makes life complicated.

Allie Marz  15:05
So I read that after because obviously, like, I was like, I wonder if she's here. Like, not that I care. Like, I don't like Taylor Swift and like and I hate it when people, like, accuse me of being a Swifty because I'm a KC fan. And it's frustrating because I've been a Casey fan long before that bitch entered Travis Kelce life, and

Matt Cundill  15:25
I Okay, so to be clear, you're just, you're just pissed off that Travis has taken well, I

Allie Marz  15:30
mean, like, sure, yeah, okay,

Matt Cundill  15:32
there we go, just so we're clear. Carry on.

Allie Marz  15:35
It's funny because I got a really good video of Travis Kelsey when he was warming up, and like in the video, it looks like he obviously doesn't. But a lot of people commented on it when I posted it on my Instagram, and they're like, Yo, he looked at you and nodded. And I was like, okay, like, he didn't, but, like, in the video, it straight up looks like he does, because, like, we went early, obviously, like we were sitting there, like, probably an hour and a half prior to the game, because I wanted to go see the warm up. And he was like, right there, and people were like, screaming at him, but there was not very many people at their seats yet. So the video is pretty clear that I got of him. And it does, like, straight up, it does look like he does, he doesn't, but like, it's a good video to have, like, and for him to be that, like, oh, it was just, I can't, like, I'm still processing the whole thing, because it was such an amazing experience, and like to see my team play for the first time in Buffalo. Like, I just, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. You're

Matt Cundill  16:32
gonna get down to arrowhead. So

Allie Marz  16:34
this is my plan, actually. So now that I've gone to a game, I clearly now have the itch, like, I just, all I want to do is go to a game. Like, every Sunday I want to go to a game. It

Matt Cundill  16:46
is the greatest, absolutely,

Allie Marz  16:50
it's just, it's just so fun. Like, I don't know I'm going to go. I think, though, I have two weeks off in December and then two weeks off in January. So what I'm thinking for January is I might go down to Kc and go see one of the playoff games, because right now I looked at tickets, and obviously the schedule is not out. It's like TBD, but they're only $400 right now. And so I'm like, Hey, like those will go up once, like the schedules out. So it's tempo,

Matt Cundill  17:20
yeah, yeah, it's, it's the, I mean, last year they played their wild card game, and it was like, minus 40. So, so you do have the elements of the weather, but I've seen games in Buffalo in January. It's damp. This is sort of a dry cold in Kansas City. But some people got some, some people got frostbite last year at the game. Oh, shit. Seriously. Yeah, there was about 40 instances. And, like, some people lost ears. I think, well, some people, people aren't smart, right? They don't know how to Oh, that's true. Dress.

Allie Marz  17:49
That is true. And I actually am not gonna lie, I froze my ass off at the game because I wanted to just, like, show off my outfit, because I, like, tucked my jersey in. And, like, I thought I looked so cute. I had leather pants on. My mom's like, put a fucking jacket on. I was like, No, I'm not cold. Hose, don't get cold. My mom was like, pardon me. I was like, I'm fine. And I'm like, sitting there shivering, and she's like, put your coat on. I'm going to kill you. And I was like, Okay, fine, I'll put it on.

Matt Cundill  18:16
What about a hat? You didn't have a hat.

Allie Marz  18:18
I had a hat on too. Yeah. Like, I went to, you know, but it's funny, actually, funny story. I should have grabbed it before I sat down for this podcast. So we get home from the game, and she goes, Why didn't you wear dad's Kansas City jacket? And I was like, what? She's like, there's a Casey jacket in the closet. And I was like, what? I was like, why are you telling me this now? Like, why wouldn't you have told me that before we went to the game? And she's like, Yeah, like, the jackets upstairs. Go grab it. So I go upstairs to my dad's room, because she, like, she still, obviously has it all, still his stuff up there. I open the closet door and there's this beautiful black KC bomber jacket, and it's got, like, it's stunning. Like, I was like, I can't believe you didn't tell me this before we went because I would have been warm and I would have had a Casey jacket on. So sure enough, I go grab it. It fits me perfectly. Like, it's really cute, oversized, like, stunning jacket. Because I was about to order one. We were like, sitting in the living room because there was this guy at the game that had this really nice Casey burgundy colored bomber jacket on. And so I was like, trying to find it online, and then I found it, and then she's like, why don't you just take duds? And I was like, What do you mean? She's like, I told you he had that. And I was like, No, you didn't. So anyways, needless to say, I do have this beautiful black bomber jacket now, so I'm like, Okay, well, now I have to go to another game before the season ends. Just

Matt Cundill  19:45
listen to your mom this one time. Why was your dad a chiefs fan?

Allie Marz  19:55
So funny enough. So my dad was a patriot. Fan. So I used to be a Patriots fan. Obviously, this was back when Tom Brady was around on the Patriots My dad loved Tom Brady, okay, like he was his favorite. So I kind of, I never, obviously, this was, Oh, my God, probably what, 10 years ago. Maybe I more, more than 10 years ago, because I remember, I was, like, 20 when I got my first Tom Brady jersey. So yeah, 12 years ago, and yeah, he loved him. So I was like, hey, you know what? I'll just follow what my dad does. You know I was daddy's little girl, like, whatever, whoever he liked, I would just follow suit. So I got a Tom Brady Jersey, and I was a die hard Patriots fan. Of course, Tom Brady leaves the Patriots and goes to the bucks and my dad's like, Well, fuck Tom Brady. And I was like, What do you mean just be a bucks fan, if you like him that much. And he was like, okay, like, you know, he kind of, like, veered off from, like, kind of watching it, and then he started to notice Patrick mahomes, and he's like, oh, like, fuck. He's a good player. Like, you know, maybe I'll be a KC fan. And so then I was like, Okay, well, I guess I'm a KC fan. Like, I just, I anything my dad did, I did, right? Sure, sure. I always have to explain that to people, because they're like, you're a bandwagon. Are you only like Casey because of Taylor Swift, or like you only like Casey because of Patrick mahomes? And I'm like, no, like, I actually have a story as to why I'm a KC fan, and then I tell people that story, and they're like, Okay, you know what? Fair enough? Like, that's actually you're, you are a fan. It's because I've been following them since my dad was around, of course, right? And then when he passed, I was like, Well, I'm just gonna stay a Casey fan, right? Like, I'm not gonna not gonna go back to the Patriots. Like, the Patriots suck.

Matt Cundill  21:47
My dad was a was a Dolphins fan? Oh, yeah, okay, and I'm here to tell you that dolphins fans don't get treated as nicely as you were treated last Sunday.

Allie Marz  21:57
Why is that? They're

Matt Cundill  21:59
in the division? I think teams that are in the division, you can't stand one another, you build the team to beat the other teams in the division. So, I mean, I don't think it'll ever go away that the team that the Chiefs hate the most are the Raiders. That's, I mean, for somebody, by the way, who likes Vegas like you, you know you might, you might not want to wear that shirt to the game. And no, no,

Allie Marz  22:22
no. Actually, I was, I said that to my mom. I was like, You know what, Vegas is, only two hours from me. I wouldn't mind going, like, on my time off, I could go to Vegas for two days and go to a Raiders game. Like, I obviously wouldn't wear my KC stuff to a Raiders game. I would go and, like, you know, get a hat just to kind of fit in. You know what I mean. But I wonder,

Matt Cundill  22:41
I wonder if it's changed because Vegas is such a place where people go to watch the game, it's I sometimes think that the best the Raiders can do is put 60% of their fans in the building, and then the other 40% is made up of people who either come to see the Raiders or other teams. And most of those tickets are sitting at concierge or whatnot. Or part of a package if you do travel to Vegas, or part of a weekend excursion or something like that. So I always found that, you know, being a Raiders fan, you're gonna have to share your space with the people from away. Yeah,

Allie Marz  23:12
for sure, for sure. My sister actually her and her boyfriend went to Vegas a few weeks ago when Casey played Vegas and my sister had on a Raiders hat, but her boyfriend's a KC fan, so they had a great time. They said it was a blast. Did

Matt Cundill  23:29
you get the feeling that Bills fans? I mean, yes, they'll make fun of you, but that that you're like us, just like, you know, a team in, you know, from, from that's not New York, that's not LA, that's not Miami,

Allie Marz  23:48
yeah, yeah. Like, I said, like, I felt so treated with respect, with, you know what I mean, like, there was, like crazy Bills fans beside us, but like two rows down from us, this one guy, he was with all his friends who were KC fans and, like, even when the bills would touch, like, get a touchdown, like, he's even cheering me, like, you know, we were, like, everyone was just no one had hatred towards one another. Like it was, it was really nice, except, except, we were walking back to the car after the game ended, and of course, everyone's so happy the bills won. And like, these people are trying to, like, the lady that worked at the stadium, she's like, cheering for the bills when we're like, escorting, and she, like, goes to give me a high five, and I'm like, I'm not giving you a high five, right? So we're walking to the car, and this group of guys drives by, and I didn't have my coat on. I had my like, people could see my mahomes Jersey, and these guys screamed at me. They were like, get the fuck out of our city. And I was like, fuck you. Like my mom's like, Ally, no, we're in America. Don't yell at people. I.

Matt Cundill  25:00
Yeah, I think the, you know, that is the prevailing bills attitude, we live here. What's your what we live here? What's your excuse? But I do know the governor of New York, she's a, she's a big Bills fan, and she gave a message to Steelers fans ahead of the playoff game a few years ago. You remember, there was, like, a massive amounts of snow, and it was, most of it was, Don't come. You're not gonna win anyway.

Allie Marz  25:26
The Steelers lost yesterday, and they played in like a snowstorm yesterday,

Matt Cundill  25:30
yeah. And you know what? I kind of had a heads up that they would lose, but I got that heads up after I'd already put my money on the Steelers to win. So that's very typical of my life. But yeah, the Steelers apparently practice hard every week, and they don't do very well on Thursdays because of the way they practice and the way they play. And it's like, yeah, every year they lose the Thursday game.

Allie Marz  25:53
So the Steelers play Kansas City on Christmas, and my mom wants to go to that game so badly because, like, Pittsburgh's only, like a four hour drive from Niagara, like, it's not far, and my mom wants to go. She's like, I'll buy the tickets. And I was like, I can't go. Like, I work on the halt, like I work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and everything else. Yeah, if I could somehow manage to get rid of those shifts, I would 100% go to that game. Yeah,

Matt Cundill  26:20
yeah. And also, I get a little bit leery about driving around that part of the world, that time of year, because anything can roll in off the lake, yeah, for sure. And then you'll spend your, like, the bulk of your Christmas buried in snow in your car.

Allie Marz  26:35
You're not wrong, but I mean, what an experience that would be. But I do want to take my mom to a Steelers game. Because, like, she has, like, she also, like, same thing. She's got, like, a big Steelers winner Jack. She's got a Terrible Towel, like, she's, she's the die hard and I just want to take her there so she can wave her little towel around and just like, have the time of her life. I'm not

Matt Cundill  26:54
surprised. She's a Steelers fan. I mean, she's a child of the 70s, so that that was when the Steelers were a thing, like a, yeah, they had a, they were the big and they still are the big NFL brand, along with the Cowboys, you know, Legacy brands. But they had that defense and Jack Lambert and Terry Bradshaw and Lynn Swann and, yeah, Franco. It just goes on and on.

Allie Marz  27:21
I love that. I come from such a football focus family, just because, like, flames are huge out here, like everyone is a flames fan in Calgary, like you live in Calgary or flames fan, like you're, you're no other hockey person out here. But I never really followed hockey so much, like I was, I'm a stars fan, and I was a stars fan, like, specifically because I know Tyler Sagan and so, like, I kind of just gravitated to a stars fan and but, yeah, like, I just don't really care too much for hockey, so I'm happy that my whole family is like a football family, like my brother is a die hard dolphins,

Matt Cundill  28:01
yeah, yeah, well, I don't like your brother as a Bills fan. I'm all No, you would not like me. Yeah. You know the Steelers have their have their own little song that they love to sing, too. In every game, what do they do? They sing renegade from sticks. Oh, yeah, and I didn't know this, but it started in 2003 during a playoff game, and they went ahead to in the fourth quarter, and I guess they played Renegade. And I sort of stuck as being the song that they, that they play every every game. I

Allie Marz  28:38
love that I don't know. Like, does Casey have one? Like, is, I feel like this is just stuff that goes on in games, right? Like, I

Matt Cundill  28:45
would probably say, fight for your right to party from the Beach Boys.

Allie Marz  28:50
I should be, yeah, but that's definitely my plan. I think in January I will try and get to Casey. It's funny because me and my mom were, like, talking about that. She's like, how do you even get to Casey? I'm like, I have no fucking idea I fly to Chicago or something like, I don't know. I don't know the geography of America very well.

Matt Cundill  29:08
I did it once I did, I did Edmonton to KC, went down for a wedding, and we went Edmonton, Denver, Denver. KC,

Unknown Speaker  29:19
oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.

Matt Cundill  29:22
I mean, you being in Calgary, would likely do something like that, or you would do or you would go through Chicago,

Allie Marz  29:27
yeah, see, like, that's just what I was thinking with Chicago. But we have Denver to actually out here, so I don't even think we fly to Chicago right now. To be honest with you,

Matt Cundill  29:36
I sorry to do the math on this, but if you do WestJet, I know you're WestJet girl. WestJet is affiliated with one of the US airliners.

Allie Marz  29:46
Yeah. We are delta, united, Delta, yeah,

Matt Cundill  29:50
and delta has a hub in Minneapolis, yep. Yeah, you know. So if you did an Air Canada is affiliated with United. So that would be air that would go through. To Chicago, right? Or either one runs through Denver for you. So honestly,

Allie Marz  30:05
like, I don't even care, like I'd walk if I had to.

Matt Cundill  30:10
Do you know, here the three best tailgates in America are buffalo, Kansas City and Green Bay, Kansas City, really, oh yeah. Like, they know how to tailgate as, like, the best,

Allie Marz  30:24
yeah. And like, I did say that to my mom, I was like, You know what? It would be such a different experience, like, if you, like, travel, like, straight up, fly to a city to go see a game, because you don't have to worry about driving. You can go and get absolutely annihilated, and you don't have to worry about that. And I only had two drinks because I just didn't want to have to deal with, you know, crossing the border and, like, what if they asked me, like, Have you had anything to drink? Which I don't think that they would ask those questions. But like, you just never know. And like, we got back to the border, we breezed right through. There was not a single car in the thing, and the lady was like, Where were you? I was like, Oh, we just went to the bills game. She's like, Have a nice day. Yeah,

Matt Cundill  31:01
by the way, they don't care if you're hammered at the border, but there is a check stop another 100, a few 100 meters up ahead.

Allie Marz  31:08
Yeah, exactly right, yeah. Thank God. My mom lives right beside the border, like her house. You can see the border like you pull through and then you're at home. Yeah? I

Matt Cundill  31:18
I do that trip once a year. Now go to Buffalo for a game. I was going to pick this game, and then I thought, ah, that'd be expensive. I don't want to drive in November. And my I fly into Toronto and then drive down. And I just didn't want to, I try, I try to get the trip out of the way before Canadian Thanksgiving, because it's fall. The colors are nice, and it's still quite wonderful outside. Yeah, makes travel easy. And I think I like to get the game in early so I can kind of hooks me in sort of thing. So for sure, yeah. And I said, Oh, here's a Monday night game Jacksonville. And I mean, you couldn't pick a less popular team than the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it was, I thought, I thought they'd make a game of it. It did not happen. So she did what she I'll tell you, the wife was definitely saying to me, can we please go to the Kansas City game? When he was begging me, God,

Allie Marz  32:15
you guys should have come. I know,

Matt Cundill  32:18
but it's like, you know what? You paid for tickets. And I kind of felt like I got away the first time with the with paying the right price for this thing. But sometimes I look at those big games and I'm like, maybe I'll just watch it at home. And a lot of people, did you know it was the most watched football game outside of a Thanksgiving or Christmas, yeah, since 2007 since a Brady Manning game in 2007

Allie Marz  32:42
Wow. Well, everyone wanted C Casey lose to Buffalo, right? Yeah.

Matt Cundill  32:46
I just think people love quarterbacks. They just love seeing two guys, you know, leave it all out there and hash it out.

Allie Marz  32:55
Josh Allen played really well that night. And Patrick Holmes, I'm not gonna lie like that's my team, but he played terribly.

Matt Cundill  33:02
Yeah. I mean, he's thrown interceptions this year. There has been a few things get away from him, and they have had, they've had a little bit of luck along the way. They menu. I, what I like about Casey is how they manufacture their wins. They just find a way. Oh, that's exactly it. Yeah. We need to push at the end. We need to do this one thing to do it. And I think the most amazing stat is like, we talk about mahomes, nobody talks about the Kansas City defense, and they, they kind of know what they're doing. And this was the first game that they gave up more than 28 points in like 30 games, something crazy since the Super Bowl against Philadelphia. Something crazy like that. And it's like, whoa, that's that's a serious that's a serious defense.

Allie Marz  33:45
Well, to be honest with you, I thought we were gonna lose to the Broncos. You know, a couple weeks ago, like that game, I was literally sitting on my floor, like I was so far at the edge of my seat that I ended up on the floor because I was like, we can't lose the Broncos. Like my ex is a Broncos fan, and, like, obviously him and I, like, don't talk anymore. But I was like, I'm gonna send him a text message. I was like, if you win today, I'm gonna be so mad. And that blocks field goal, I could not believe happened. I was like, There's no way. Like, we're done. Like, this. Is it game over?

Matt Cundill  34:17
Are you gonna be that was more luck. Are you gonna be the type of person like, looks at the NFL schedule when it comes out and go, I'm going here, I'm going here, and I'm going here.

Allie Marz  34:25
Yeah, I actually was doing that after I got back from the case again, I was literally looking at the schedule. I was like, hey, where can I go? I have December 7 to 16th off, and then January, like, third to 18th off. Like, where can I go? And I even said to my mom, because I do have a couple of friends in Buffalo who are Season Pass holders for the bills, and I have been invited, you know, like, I have an extra ticket. Like, why don't you come to this? Like, the game on the eighth they're playing the Rams. And I was like, do I really want to travel the way home just to go see the bills and the Rams? Like, no, I really don't. I'd rather go somewhere else to straight up see case. Play, right? So I have been looking at the schedule, and I am going to try and go somewhere.

Matt Cundill  35:06
Well, you know, the bills may just play the Chiefs again this year, somewhere.

Allie Marz  35:11
Yeah, exactly.

Matt Cundill  35:14
So maybe, right if, I mean, if a playoff started today, they could play each other in Kansas City,

Allie Marz  35:20
yeah, exactly. And which, I mean, I would have, would love to go to that game, you know, it would be a fun time. And like to see KC fans in their element. I think would be an even better experience.

Matt Cundill  35:33
Yeah, I know what you're saying. Oh, I don't need a car. But the stadiums for both, like, you know, arrowhead and and Highmark, they're both out of town, so, but, like, it's out by about 15 miles from Buffalo and in Kansas City, it's a little bit arrowheads, a little bit to the outside of the city. So I sometimes go, you know, I wind up having to take my car plus I want to bring my chair and I want to bring my my barbecue,

Allie Marz  35:58
yeah, fair enough, totally that, yeah, I guess I didn't really think of it that way. I was more so actually thinking like, you know, if you're in Vegas, like, it's right there, like you can walk, like, yeah,

Matt Cundill  36:10
Minneapolis. Minneapolis is like that too. You just walk to the game.

Allie Marz  36:14
I feel like, is it like that in New York too? No, they

Matt Cundill  36:18
play in New Jersey over in the Meadowlands. Oh

Allie Marz  36:20
shit. Actually, I

didn't see, I didn't know that just, I'll

Matt Cundill  36:23
give you a little reminder. There is only one New York football team.

Allie Marz  36:27
Okay, well, I meant like, you know, giants, yeah,

Matt Cundill  36:31
those are New Jersey teams. Okay,

Allie Marz  36:32
gotcha, yeah,

yeah. So anyways, that's my plan. I'll definitely, for sure, no question, go to a game before the season ends. And obviously a dream of mine would be to go to the Super Bowl. But,

Matt Cundill  36:46
you know, that might be a waste of money. You know, it probably is. Yeah, I might suggest that the best game to go to is always an AFC Championship or an NFC Championship. You know, while the fans are still there and you sort of get an opportunity to wish your team well as they head off to the Super Bowl.

Allie Marz  37:04
Yeah, no, I can totally, especially like, yeah, if you do pay to go to the Super Bowl, and it's not even a team you care for, it's, I can see that being a waste of money, for sure. Yeah, there's just for the straight up to say you're at the Super Bowl and

Matt Cundill  37:16
surrounded by a bunch of

Allie Marz  37:18
corporate wing nuts. Yeah, and it's in New Orleans this year. Ooh, that'd be good,

Matt Cundill  37:25
I guess. As a Bills fan, if they go to the Super Bowl, I think I have to go,

Speaker 1  37:30
Oh, you have to. It would be rude not to. I

Matt Cundill  37:34
know. I just think that Bills fans might drive the price up, you know, because there's a there's a team that's got to be there to see this happen. Yeah,

Allie Marz  37:44
I mean, you're gonna pay an absurd amount no matter who's there. Yeah, I don't think they're anything cheaper than $5,000

Matt Cundill  37:56
listen, if the Carolina Panthers were playing with Jacksonville Jaguars in the Super Bowl, I can tell you, those prices will not be that expensive.

Allie Marz  38:05
You're not wrong, yeah, oh, my God, that's funny, yeah?

I mean, it's an experience, right?

Matt Cundill  38:14
So Greg, your time out of 10,

Allie Marz  38:17
a 20, nice, a 20, for sure, for sure. All right,

Matt Cundill  38:23
and give me a How far will the Chiefs go?

Allie Marz  38:28
Super Bowl,

Matt Cundill  38:29
then how far will the bills go? Super Bowl? They can't meet in the Super Bowl.

Allie Marz  38:36
I'm just being nice, you know, that's a good question, to be honest with you, like, I feel like there's a lot of potential for people to go to the Super Bowl this year, and it's tough call right now.

Matt Cundill  38:50
I'll give you one more question. There's another team in the AFC that could knock off the Chiefs or the bills? What is that other team that could ruin our pathways to the Super Bowl?

Unknown Speaker  39:07
Um,

Matt Cundill  39:10
I have one in mind, by the way.

Allie Marz  39:11
Well, foodie, you really want to say your answer. I can tell well,

Matt Cundill  39:15
because the answer is closer than you think in your world. And I think it's the Steelers

Allie Marz  39:20
I was I was thinking the Steelers, like, that's my mom. Even she said that too. She is a firm believer that she thinks that the Steelers will Yeah, so that would have been my guess. Yeah.

Matt Cundill  39:34
And I think the Ravens can knock off the bills a second time, but I don't think the Ravens can beat the chiefs.

Allie Marz  39:41
No, I don't either. No, and I have a good friend of mine who's a Ravens fan.

Matt Cundill  39:46
What's that person's problem?

Allie Marz  39:48
I don't know. Actually, how'd

Matt Cundill  39:50
that happen? Who hurt them?

Allie Marz  39:52
I don't know why he's a Ravens fan, to be honest with you,

why is he a Ravens fan? I don't know. Anyways, I. Chiefs all day, I think we'll, we'll, we'll make it to Super Bowl this year again, against who, who knows you.
