FemmeBNB is Creating Safe Spaces for Women Who Love to Travel

This is the first of five podcasts with RBC called She’s the Boss where we amplify the voices of female entrepreneurs across Canada so that other women can learn and grow their businesses from the wisdom shared here. In this episode we’re taking a closer look as some of hurdles those in travel may face. When it comes to travel, women are definitely driving the bus. Travel companies dedicated to women-only customers have increased by 230%, and 80% of all travel decisions are made by women. Even more surprising though is according to a study cited on condorferries.co.uk, Regardless of what is going on in the world, it has been found that 86% of women state that they are not afraid to travel. This independence though must be tempered with practicality, because women face risks that men don’t. This is where FemmeBNB enters the scene. Yaa Birago and her partner Diana Obeng know the pain points women face when travelling alone, and are on a mission to alleviate travel anxieties through curated services on their platform and to reshape the women’s travel experience and connect women through travel.
