When Loblaws announced last month that they were freezing prices on their no name brands, the response wasn’t favourable. The public, already at or past the financial breaking point, saw it for what it was, a PR stunt meant to distract from the fact that they are making record profits at the same time that food banks are seeing their higher demand ever. Melissa Silber, aims to educate the Canadian public on large corporate conglomerates in Canada, as well as help entrepreneurs and small business owners and joins me today to discuss greedflation. Lindsay Sealey, author of Made for More is back with a look at the “supergirl syndrome” and how it places undue pressure on GenZ women and girls. Lindsay shares some tips that we can employ to help them, and possibly even help ourselves escape from this trap. Finally, Sonshine and Broccoli the JUNO-nominated duo from Toronto who know how important it is for children to have music of their own have released a new album. Lisa Sonshine joins me to discuss how the pandemic pushed them to write this album for today’s kids, and then shares the song Born to Be Brave with us, a song kids and adults will love.
